Dances of Universal Peace
They provide a joyful, multi-cultural way to touch the spiritual essence within ourselves and others. Being inspired by the wisdom and sacred phrases of the many spiritual traditions of humankind, the Dances are a form of celebration and meditation in sound and movement. We will have daily morning and evening sessions of the Dances, led by experienced international dance leaders: Rasullah Clarke, Habiba Willow, Grace Marie, James Burgess, Tansen O’Donohoe, and Glenda and Trevor.

Morning and evening Dances of Universal Peace, afternoon outdoor circle dancing, music, singing, harmonic temple, morning meeting, sharing groups, yoga, storytelling and ceremonies. There is space at the camp for spontaneous and impromptu events, walks up the hill, swimming in the river and other shared activities.

Dances of Universal Peace are simple dances set to chants based on sacred phrases, honouring all the spiritual traditions of the world. The dances are danced in circles, accompanied by music. No special skills or previous experience are needed to participate, just an open heart.
Circle Dance
This involves simple movements from the folk dancing tradition of many countries, particularly Greece and Eastern Europe. Under the guidance of experienced Circle-Dance teachers, we dance every day in the open air before sunset to live music from the Circle Dance Band led by Rasalila’s Tony Wrench, which is open to all instrumentalists and singers. Want to practice your Circle Dance playing? Here is a free download for you!

band Unicorn Camps have been running dance, healing and voice camps since 1988. We have developed awareness of how to create an atmosphere of sensitivity, intimacy, creativity and spontaneity. Arriving on time and staying for the full camp produces a deep and fulfilling sense of trust, safety and community.

To respect this process the camps are closed to visitors and the use of alcohol and illegal drugs is strongly discouraged. Apart from the occasional specified evenings, we have quiet after eleven o'clock at night

Harmonic Temple
A magical soundspace created when a group meets in spirit through vocal harmony. For the last 13 years Nickomo & Rasullah have been perfecting a repertoire of chants, prayers and affirmations to achieve this ecstatic immersion in sound using texts from many different spiritual sources, and they are now sung around the world. It is accessible to singers of all levels of ability, and is a wonderful way to start the day.

Voicework
There are daily sessions of Indian Bhajan singing led by Habiba Willow and every day there is a full length morning session of Harmonic Temple with Nickomo and Rasullah Clarke or songs from Taizé with Dee Jarlett. Every day there are voice workshops of various kinds including: global harmonies with Bruce & Rebecca Knight, and sound-healing with Chrys Blanchard. This year the programme will include full sessions to learn Eastern European folk songs etc. to sing with the Circle Dance Band.

Sufi  Meditations
Led by James Burgess, a Sufi Order representative, these morning practices include work with breath, sound, light and awareness to journey through various specific states of consciousness that have been taught by masters throughout the ages.

Astrology
A team of astrologers, with a wealth of experience in this country and abroad, will lead groups for adults and teens in traditional theory and horoscope interpretations, plus more modern experiential methods like astrodrama and astrological walks.

The Dance of Life
A daily morning ritual performed in the open using chant and movement to connect the energies of Earth and Sky, and of the cardinal directions. It is both a body prayer for peace in the world and a practice for connecting with our individual centre. It will be taught at the beginning of the week, and thereafter can be dropped in upon.

Yoga
Enjoy practising yoga every morning with Susan Harris , qualified Yoga Teacher  and Yoga therapist.  Warm up with gentle stretches and perform classical asanas , ‘salute the sun’ and practise Pranayama.  Each session will conclude with relaxation and visualisation. This course is suitable for complete beginners and experienced practitioners alike. Ernesta Dziovalaite will lead afternoon sessions.

7 Words
This personal development model is based on the idea that all communication and behaviour can be studied as one of 7 archetypes that are simply expressed by the words: No, Hello, Thanks, Goodbye, Please, Sorry and Yes. The system’s originator - James Burgess - will present the theory and personal applications within the context of a daily sharing group.

Dances of Universal Peace are forms of meditation and celebration using chants of sacred phrases and mantra. The camp is a joyful light experience for those who love to sing and dance in nature.

The Programme
We try to strike a balance between offering a wide choice of workshops and experiences while maintaining an atmosphere of serenity and sensitivity, and time is also given to different types of sharing group, so that everyone has the opportunity to process their experience in a supportive group situation. There are a couple of afternoons and one morning where there are no workshops, so that we can take time to socialise, or give ourselves some space.

Creativity and Children
There is a well stocked Creativity Area where children and adults can share skills and play together and there is a full programme for children of all ages over 5 including craft-based activities, drumming, singing, dancing, drama and games.

Teens and Tweens
Specialised activities for teens and tweens are included in the Creativity Area programme. They also have dedicated spaces for their own activities. Teenagers of 15 or over are allowed to camp together in a separate circle so long as they abide by the camp rules. We value the young people at our camp very highly, and aim to involve them as fully as possible. Children and teenagers are welcome to join in with the main events on the adult programme.
